Sign up when your leaves are in paper bags and at the curb. We will be by within about a week to pick up your leaves. This may not be the same day as your recycling or composting day.

How It Works

Three easy steps

The City of Durango has partnered with Table to Farm Compost to collect bagged leaves separate from and subsequent to your standard Fall Cleanup collections week. Residents can place their paper leaf bags out on the curb anytime after October 23rd or free pick-up! Leaves will be composted at the Table to Farm Compost facility.

Sign up

Sign up through our customer shop and make a $0 purchase of the "Fall Leaf Pick-Up" product. This will place your order and get you on our route. 

Sign-up is different for new or existing customers. Check out the sign-up section below for more information.

Bag your leaves

Use compostable paper bags only and only leaves. Some small twigs and pine cones and other woody debris is allowed as long as it fits securely in a 30 gallon paper bag with nothing sticking out.

We collect and compost

We pick up the bags and compost everything locally within about a week of you signing up. Your leaves turn into finished compost that goes back into gardens, farms, and soil nearby.

Good to know before your first pickup

What can go in the bags?
Use compostable paper bags, leaves only. Some small twigs and pine cones and woody debris is allowed as long as it fits securely in. a 30 gallon paper bag (nothing sticking out).  If a bag has something else mixed in or is plastic or plastic-lined, the crew has to leave it at the curb.
Where do I put the bags?
At the curb in front of your service address as soon as you sign up. We hope to be by to pick up the bags within about a week, but it could take longer.
What happens to the leaves?
They are composted locally at the Table to Farm Compost facility. Your leaves become finished compost that goes back into soil in the area rather than sitting in a landfill.
When is my pickup day?
Your pickup day may be any day after you sign up and may not fall on your regularly scheduled recycling or composting day. Just hang tight and we will be by to get it. 
Where do I buy my bags?
You can purchase 30 gallon paper bags locally at Kroegers Ace Hardware in Town Plaza in Durango, or other vendors around town. We will only accept paper bags — no plastic or plastic-lined bags are allowed. These will be left at the curb.
Where do I find out more about the Fall Cleanup?
You can visit the City of Durango's website here to find out when the City will be servicing your neighborhood. Table to Farm Compost's service begins once the city's service is completely ended. So any bags you put out before October 23rd will not be composted.
